Is the Glue Board One-Sided or Double-Sided?When I first started using mosquito fly traps, one small thing that confused me was the glue board inside. I noticed that some replacement boards were sticky on one side, while others were sticky on both sides. So, which one is right? The truth is, it really depends on your mosquito trap model and how you plan to use it.
Most electric mosquito lamps or UV traps come with one-sided glue boards. These are easy to handle-one side has strong adhesive to catch mosquitoes, flies, and small insects, while the back side stays clean and non-sticky for easier placement and removal. If your trap has a flat surface or a tray-style design, a one-sided board is usually enough. It's cleaner to change out and doesn't stick to the inner walls of the trap.
However, in some cases, double-sided glue boards are more effective. For example, if your mosquito lamp has a cage or a tunnel structure, using a double-sided board doubles your catching area. More surface means higher capture efficiency, especially in places with heavy mosquito or fly activity. I've tried both types, and honestly, the double-sided version works better during summer when insects are everywhere.
That said, not every lamp supports double-sided sheets. Some might get messy or block airflow if both sides are sticky. So before you buy refills, it's smart to check your lamp's manual or ask the supplier.
In short, both types work well-it just comes down to your trap's design and how convenient you want maintenance to be. I keep both on hand: one-sided boards for daily use, and double-sided ones when I really want to boost capture power.
